The Torchbearers of Tomorrow: Mount Olympus School 79 Hosted a Grand Investiture Ceremony.
The atmosphere at Mount Olympus School 79, Gurugram, was filled with excitement and pride. The Annual Investiture Ceremony & Achievers' Day was not just a formal event but a reminder of the school’s aim—to guide students into becoming good leaders, to teach them responsibility, and to appreciate their achievements. It was a day when the badge of leadership was handed over, when students proudly accepted new roles, and when the hard work of achievers was celebrated. The whole school waited eagerly for the program that would begin a new journey of leadership and success.
A Grand Welcome and A Promise of Light
The event began with a warm welcome for the chief guest, Major Mohommed Ali Shah and the school management. The sound of drums outside the Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH) announced their arrival and created an atmosphere of importance and excitement. It was a mix of tradition and formality, setting the tone for the day.
The program continued with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. As the dignitaries lit the lamps one by one, a soft glow filled the hall. This was not just a custom but a symbol of sharing knowledge and wisdom from teachers to students.
After this, the hall echoed with a melodious welcome song sung in harmony, followed by a powerful Tandav dance performance that left the audience spellbound with its rhythm and energy.
The March of Future Leaders
The main part of the ceremony—the formal investiture—took place with great seriousness. The Head of School Ms Raina Bajaj gave an inspiring speech, reminding the new leaders that leadership is not about power, but about service and responsibility. The HOS emphasized that real leaders show honesty, empathy, humility, and the courage to do what is right.
After this, the most awaited moment arrived: the March Past. Led by the newly chosen Head Boy and Head Girl, the student council marched together with pride, their heads held high. Each step showed their promise to take on their duties with confidence. Watching them filled the audience with pride and hope.
Next came the Badge-Giving Ceremony. As each student received their badge, it marked the start of their new role. The small act of pinning a badge symbolized trust and responsibility being given to them. This was followed by the Oath-Taking Ceremony. With hands raised, the student leaders spoke in one voice, promising to follow the values of the school, lead by example, serve their peers, and fulfill their duties with sincerity.
The Head Boy and Head Girl then shared their thoughts with the gathering. Their speeches showed both humility and ambition as they spoke about their goals for the year and their plans to create a more inclusive and dynamic student community. Their words gave everyone confidence in the bright future ahead.
The ceremony then turned celebratory as the school honored its achievers. From top scholars to sports champions and talented artists, students from many fields were recognized for their hard work and dedication. This part of the event reminded everyone that the school not only builds leaders but also celebrates every form of excellence.

The ceremony ended on a lively note with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, followed by an energetic Bhangra performance that filled the hall with joy and celebration. The colorful costumes and rhythmic dance created a festive atmosphere. Finally, the event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, filling everyone with pride and patriotism.
